Job Description Our company a world leader in the development of wireless technology and products, relies on its valuable patent portfolio to generate substantial revenue. As the company continues to invest heavily in research and development and our product lines continue to expand, the need to protect our intellectual property continues to grow.Our company is looking for talented and motivated Patent Attorneys to apply their technical, communication, and legal skills working with engineers and business units in a team environment with the goal of identifying and cultivating key intellectual property and advising team members on the development of U.S. and international patent portfolio. The Patent Attorney will be required to understand the technology, business plans, product roadmaps, and current domestic and international patent laws, and to work in a cooperative atmosphere to achieve this goal.

The successful candidate must be registered to practice before the USPTO and be admitted to the Bar of at least one state. Strong skills and 3-10 years experience in preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications are required. Technical skills focused on electrical engineering and/or computer science are preferred, and individuals with advanced degrees will have an advantage.

The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment. Engineering experience and law firm experience is a plus. In addition, writing samples will be requested of candidates.

We are looking for candidates that will serve as Patent Counsel within Portfolio Management and Analytics Group in the Intellectual Property Department. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and business units to lead patent portfolio reviews and analyses, classify and track IP development, and provide legal advice and client counseling on patent portfolio related matters including IPR declarations, IPR evaluation processes, and open source software. Additional responsibilities may include providing guidance and direction to attorneys and team members on projects pertaining to the management of the patent portfolio.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred, JD, USPTO registration required, at least one state bar registration.
